Apart from automotive and leisure applications, the foams from Sekisui Pilon are used in other industries like construction and insulation. In the construction industry, Softlon and Lightlon are used as they show recovery from compression, thereby providing sealing. Softlon also has weather, ozone and UV resistance. Softlon and Lightlon seal against air, water, dust, dampen vibrations, provide thermal insulation and have dynamic pressure absorption.
Foams from Sekisui Pilon find use in insulation. Softlon and Lightlon tube products offer thermal conductivity, a wide temperature working range, closed structure for effective condensation and are CFC free. The products can be used in heating systems, chilled water lines, underslab insulation, air conditioner duct work, refrigeration pipework.
In buoyancy, Sekisui Pilon's foams are used in flotation jackets and devices. The foams are available in rolls and sheets and in different grades. Softlon is used for the general body while Evalon is used for additional flexibility. Evalon XE is used specially in life jackets.
Other applications of Sekisui Pilon's foams include use in adhesive foam tapes, capseals, insulation and anti vibration devices, safety mats, insoles, orthopedic splints, medical aids. The foams are also used in engineering applications and for sound insulation.
