Water storage and harvesting system from Resource Management Technologies Remtec
The Aquacomb System from Resource Management Technologies (Remtec) have been designed to manage domestic rainwater and stormwater. This water harvesting system comprises a series of interconnected water storage pods that can be housed within a concrete slab or under any hard, covered surface.
Currently the water pods are configured in two sizes,1100(L) x 1100(W) x 300(D) and 1100(L) x 1100(W) x 225(D) allowing the system to be designed to hold multiple amounts of water resulting in higher yields and less dependence on mains drinking water. The materials used in the construction of the water pods comply with relevant Australian standards for drinking water. Standard materials and fittings have been used in the design to simplify the system and minimise costs. Installation of the Aquacomb system is quick, simple and is certified by a licensed plumber.
The modular water pod storage system is designed to complement the current pod construction method and replaces styro foam pods as required to obtain the necessary storage volume. The system is fully in cased within the concrete slab and it reduces the threat of algae growth or insect breeding.
Valuable land space is optimised for the homeowner and the original aesthetics of the home as designed by the architect and designer are maintained. This also minimises the impact on the visual environment that occurs with above ground water tanks and eliminates the need to excavate for underground tanks. The Aquacomb system has been pressure tested to ensure that there are no leaks. Each pod can carry the weight of five adults and has been load tested up to 2,000kg.
All materials used in the modular pod construction are recyclable and with each pod weighing less than 20kg, the system is OH and S friendly. The system does not require class 10b council approval for structures.
