Water tank owners are set to experience the benefits of better quality rainwater with the installation of Rain Harvesting’s Rain Filters.
Spurred on by tank rebates on offer from local and state governments, many people are enjoying the freedom of using rainwater to help keep their gardens green, cars clean and pools topped up.
However, recent changes to some rebate programs mean in some areas, rainwater tanks must now be connected inside the home to supply rainwater to toilets and laundry.
In response to these new requirements, Rain Harvesting has launched its new Rain Filters system.
The advanced Rain Filters system helps protect washing machines, reduce discolouration of toilet bowls and cisterns, and generally enhance the experience of using rainwater as a sustainable water supply.
According to Rain Harvesting Director Sandy Murdoch, Rain Filters will provide homeowners with improved confidence in the quality of their rainwater.
“Water quality is important and we strongly emphasise the way in which rainwater is harvested is paramount,” Sandy says.
“Rain Filters will work best when used in conjunction with pre-treatment devices such as gutter mesh, leaf screening rain heads, and first flush diverters.
“These products are important to create a safe, reliable and sustainable rain harvesting system”.
Rain Filters are a range of water filters designed specifically for use with rainwater tanks. The range includes two types of filtration systems and choosing the right filter is easy.
The Triple Action Filtration system is suitable whenever rainwater is used inside the home, and the Sediment Filtration system is recommended when rainwater is only used for external purposes.
5” Sediment filter provides cleaner water for topping up pools or spas and for car washing. The filters help protect high pressure cleaning devices, and help irrigation systems run more efficiently by ensuring sprinkler heads remain clear.
The Triple Action filters remove sediment as well as colour and odours from the water. Two sizes are available - the 10” product is suitable when the tank supplies water for toilet and laundry use, and the 20” version is recommended when rainwater supplies the whole of a household’s requirements.
