Radial Timber Sales ’ long term goal is to become completely self sufficient; offering products to its customers from a truly sustainable source.
Radial Timber aims to realise this goal by following a 20 year plan, which will include the management of saw log plantations of durable hardwoods in Gippsland.
In order to achieve self sufficiency Radial Timber has begun its plan to establish up to 1000 hectares of carefully pruned and thinned plantations of a range of hardwoods including:
- Yellow Stringybark
- Southern Mahogany, and
- Spotted Gum
Radial Timber expects its first harvest of sustainable logs to be harvested in 2020 and is very proud of its on going commitment to self sufficiency and provision of sustainable hardwood materials.
As a short term measure Radial Timber has made a commitment to only use plantation material where it is available to be obtained from sustainably managed forests.
