RMS Natural Stone carry an extensive range of limestone tiles that are suitable for commercial and residential applications.
Limestone is made a mineral form of calcium carbonate, known as calcite. It is formed when the carbonate crystallises out of solution and this can evolve in many different ways that leaves behind a different kind of limestone each time. Historically limestone has been found in almost every colour, though its usual colour is grey. Some limestone has strong markings with blotches and strong veins.
Limestone can form almost completely without the presence of acid from organisms. It is simply forced out of solution, by evaporation. More often, though, limestone is formed by the work of organisms, such as aquatic ones.
Limestone makes an easily worked building material, such as limestone tiles, and can also be used for the purification of waste water and gases.
