Lintels for Timber Wall Frames

Engineered Steel Lintels
The Pryda Lintel is an engineered steel 'L' section that is fastened to the prefabricated wall frame at the truss plant and delivered to site in a neat stack. The Pryda Lintel's major benefits include a once off deflection which results in a reduction in costly call backs for the builder and a lightweight and easy to handle building frame.

Lintel Benefits for Timber Wall Frames
  • Engineered - Pryda truss plants select the appropriate Pryda steel lintel for the prefabricated wall frame using Pryda's licensed software.
  • Once Off Deflection - Eliminates costly call backs that can sometimes occur with timber lintels as they gradually deflect over time and cause cornice cracking and sticking sliding doors.
  • Lightweight Prefabricated Wall Frame - Easier to handle on site, especially at heights and therefore reduces the potential for workplace injuries. Timber lintels typically add 10 to 15kgs to the weight of a wall frame.
  • Reduces Window Head Heights - With the growing trend of large floor to ceiling windows the builder is faced with restricted head heights. Pryda Lintel combined with timber reduces the depth of timber required.
  • Solution To Rectification Jobs - Is an easy solution for a rectification job where a timber lintel has failed or provides reinforcement to an undersized timber lintel.
  • Compliments Termite Proof Timber Frames - The Pryda steel lintel will not be damaged by termites. Treated timber lintels can be costly and difficult to source.
  • Engineering Support - Pryda's team of in-house engineers can assist you with any design queries as well as provide onsite assistance where necessary.
  • Compliance - The Pryda truss plant provides detailed council reports for checking by building inspectors.
  • Neatly Stacked - Prefabricated wall frames fitted with Pryda Lintel arrive on site neatly stacked for quick and easy erection.
  • Easily Designed - Can be designed by using the Pryda Frame program in the Building Designers Solutions software package. This is available free of charge and can be ordered on our website.
