To ensure that feature walls have a finish of the highest standard, a level 5 finish should be considered.
Usually used to combat light reflections from water, and other glancing light issues, products like Prep Coat Plus, available from Pro Plaster Products , are now also being used on feature walls to ensure the best possible finish before the paint is applied.
However, it’s important to apply the finishing product. A Level 5 Finish must be planned from the early stages of construction. This means ceiling battens must be included for leveling purposes and wall framing tolerances must comply with industry requirements for level 5.
Plasterboard layout is critical, thought must be given to butt and recess joints and how they will be affected by the final presentation of the feature wall (for example lighting and paint choices).
Irrespective of trade skill, spray coat application will produce a superior finish to hand applied skim coating every time. Prep Coat Plus has self leveling properties as well as being easy to sand, making it easier to achieve the desired finish, every time.
