Philmac ’s longstanding commitment to meeting the needs of its growing export market has been officially recognised. The Adelaide-based company was recently awarded the Proven Exporter Award by South Australia’s peak water body – the Water Industry Alliance (WIA).
Philmac is an innovator and manufacturer of premium quality plastic fittings and valves and is a proudly South Australian company with a global focus. They export 50% of their production output to over 30 countries worldwide.
Philmac received the WIA award specifically for their most recent partnership with Veolia Water in France – where Philmac created a specialised compression fitting designed to meet the needs of the French market.
Managing Director Chris Stathy explained that the foundation of his company’s export strategy is it’s commitment to developing tailored solutions to meet the needs of international markets, also a vital part of the businesses ongoing prosperity.
“We have been working in markets including the United Kingdom, South-East Asia, North and South America and Europe for many years now and have honed our skills in order to ensure we can meet demand and deliver polyethylene pipe fitting solutions across the globe,” Mr Stathy said.
“To ensure we could meet the needs of Veolia Water, Philmac staff in Europe were on site to assess the clients needs, while our Adelaide-based R&D team worked hard with our raw material supplier partners to create an end product specifically suited to the needs of the client.”
Over 25,000 units of Philmac’s specifically designed compression fittings are already on their way to France for use in key water meter applications. A further 95,000 will be supplied by the end of the year.
“We are honoured to receive this recognition in front of our industry peers – all of whom are working towards great things to ensure that water, one of our most precious resources, is managed effectively,” Mr Stathy said.
“Adelaide-based United Water, a subsidiary of Veolia Water, was instrumental in developing our relationship with Veolia Water (France) – a relationship which has consolidated our position as a significant exporter to European Utilities.
“Our success not only creates a pathway for further opportunities in France, but opens the door to provide more specialised solutions throughout Europe.”
Philmac was one of 18 entrants in the WIA Awards, held at the Adelaide Convention Centre last week.
