Pearcedale Plant Hire have supplied machinery and equipment for a significant WA mining project.

Objective:
To prepare the old refinery site for preparation of a sea pipe project. Construct a hard stand area, car park, and pipe lay down areas. Supply various machinery and equipment.
Pearcedale Plant Hire were contracted by PAME to prepare the old refinery site for pipeline construction. PAME have been contracted to weld 22 kilometres of sea pipe to join two oil rigs together in Bass Straight.
Pearcedale Plant Hire supplied and transported crushed rock for hard stand areas and large amounts of vehicles and equipments, including fuel truck, field truck for welding, and excavators.
Three 30 tonne excavators and a front end loader have been on site for the duration of the welding process. The front end loader has been used to move the pipe into the welding stations. The excavators are used to lift the sections of pipe in unison from the welding stations to the lay down area.
By mid November 2008 22 kilometres of sea pipe has been welded, and is awaiting a ship to come in so the pipe can be loaded. The laying of the sea pipe should be completed by the end January 2009.
