It would not be practical to treat the rain water collection tank itself, as the object causing the contamination would continue to be present and will certainly re-infect the water.
The ‘on demand’ water treatment system from Ozone Industries starts with providing a separate tank that can be closed to prevent these contaminants from entering. The water in this tank is then automatically sanitised using ozone to a particular level. This procedure will destroy all normal viruses and bacteria. It could also improve the taste and smell of water if contamination is also on account of minerals and chemicals that get oxidized during the process. This tank is simply an extension of the storage tank and water will be filled and treated automatically with normal usage.
