Nuplex Construction Products has provided New Zealand’s Auckland airport with a flooring solution to cater for their day-to-day traffic.
Millions of passengers pass through Auckland airport’s arrival halls with their wheeled luggage. The large floor area needed a smooth surface that was durable, easy to clean and have high decorative appeal.
Nuplex Construction Products had provided the ideal flooring solution with Architectural Terrazzite, a thin resin based Terrazo. Unlike most flooring products, Architectural Terrazzite features no joints and offered a wide range of colours and effects.
Architectural Terrazzite was mixed on site and trowelled directly to the prepared concrete floor. It was then diamond ground and polished in order to expose the visual texture of the aggregate.
Its decorative features were enhanced with crushed mirror glass in the resin and aggregate mix. The arrival halls of Auckland airport now produces a sparkling reflective surface that caters for 5,000 visitors per day.
