Nubian Greywater Treatment Systems’ Oasis GT600 awarded Highly Commended Status

Oasis Grey Water Recycling System

The Oasis Grey Water Recycling System (OASIS GT 600) by Nubian Greywater Treatment Systems has been awarded Highly Commended status in the Environment and Heritage Category of the 2007 Engineers Australia (Sydney Division) Engineering Excellence Awards.

The Oasis Grey Water Recycling System (OASIS GT 600) allows householders to recycle grey water (i.e. the used water that is sent down the drain every day from bathrooms, kitchen and the laundry), and use it for other purposes.

This means that every day there is a continuous water supply that can be used for bathrooms, toilets and gardens, with a cost benefit to the town drinking water supply as about 40% of household water is recycled.

The Oasis Grey Water Recycling System was awarded Highly Commended status by the judging panel of industry experts because it is reliable, low energy consuming and robust.

On average the Oasis Grey Water Recycling System can reduce drinking water consumption by 40% through treating greywater to reuse on non-drinking applications.

This represents about 400 litres per day for the average 4 person household.

The high level of purity means it can then be safely used for laundry and toilets, and on gardens to grow vegetables and fruit. This means a guaranteed, high quality water supply to use on your garden or for outdoor chores like cleaning the car.

An important ecological benefit of the OASIS GT600 is that the treated greywater is discharged at PH 7.0, a neutral level which does not affect soil fertility.

The treatment process is chemical free so no chlorine or other chemicals, which contribute to the depletion of the ozone layer, are added to the environment.

The Oasis Grey Water Recycling System has a sleek, compact, above-ground design that can be installed at the side of the house so is ideal for urban housing.

No excavations are necessary. The Oasis Grey Water Recycling System looks good and can be up and be fully functional within a week of commissioning.

Nubian Greywater Treatment Systems’ Oasis Grey Water Recycling System treats the greywater in a three steps process.

The water is first screened to remove lint, hair and other particles, it then passes through media where contaminants are removed through absorption, biological process and filtration, and it is finally disinfected.

The Oasis Grey Water Recycling System has a collection water tank, a processor and a treated water tank where the recycled water is stored prior to reuse.

An Oasis Grey Water Recycling System adds value to the average property, creating enjoyment and lifestyle choices.

By allowing the householder to have a garden it works as a form of asset protection, maintaining and increasing the investment in the house, while adding to the pleasure occupants have in living in the house. Attractive gardens ensure a higher property price should they wish to sell. (Gardens are said to add up to 10% to property prices).

The Oasis Grey Water Recycling System is accredited for use in NSW, Queensland, ACT & Victoria and has over 40 accredited installation agents.

Recipients of Excellence status in the Environment and Heritage category of the 2007 Engineers Australia (Sydney Division) Engineering Excellence Awards include Lothway-TBS for Tom Ugly’s Bridge Refurbishment, and Meinhardt NSW (Pty) Ltd for the University of Notre Dame proposed Darlinghurst Campus.
