Applications
The Nu-lok system was designed in Australia and is now widely used in diverse climates all over the world. Nu-lok replaces the traditional wooden battens with a lightweight galvanised steel grid system. The patented system incorporates specially designed link channels containing a high grade 316 steel clip for securing the leading tile edge, locked in place between galvanised steel battens. This link channel eliminates the need for double lapping the slates, as water passing through the gaps between the slates is automatically routed onto the surface of the slate below. As a result the nu-lok system requires fewer slates and less labour than traditional roofing methods to deliver a surprisingly affordable roof option.

Colours and Finishes
The system allows the use of both ceramic slate (baked at 1200C) and strong enough for a roofer to walk on-guaranteed colourfast for 50 years. Ceramic slate tiles are available in charcoal and black. Natural slate tiles can also be used are available in their natural finish.

General Advantages
Light weight galvanised steel fixing system replaces the old fashioned, wooden battens that are prone to heat and water damage. Much lighter than concrete tiles and many other roof types. Strong enough to be walked on. Guaranteed colour fast for at least 50 years. Can be easily removed and replaced with solar inserts when required. Requires no double lapping, water is automatically routed onto the surface of the slate below.
