New Holland customers see Juventus in action
Customers of New Holland Construction’s Melbourne dealership Melbourne Tractors had the chance to see some of the world’s best soccer players in action, when Italian club Juventus, sponsored by New Holland , played at Melbourne’s Telstra Dome.
The game was a one-off match between Melbourne Victory and Juventus, the A series’ most successful club.
Although Juventus defeated the local side 4-1, New Holland customer Tony Mazzone said it was a grand night.
“I’ve always had a bit of an interest in soccer. The European team was obviously slightly sharper and a bit more qualified but it was still an enjoyable match,” said Tony Mazzone, a concrete construction and earthmoving contractor from Melbourne’s Ferntree Gully.
New Holland Australia Brand Director Wayne Munce said the company was pleased to invite customers to such a good sporting event.
New Holland’s parent company Fiat Group signed a three-year sponsorship deal with Juventus last year. Under the deal, New Holland is the official team sponsor for the 2007/2008 football season.
A special logo has been developed for players’ shirts, featuring the name New Holland and the tyre mark from the New Holland logo, against a yellow background bearing the name Fiat Group.
New Holland customers got to enjoy the action from the comfort of a corporate box, and left with souvenir Juventus jerseys.
“The night was a fantastic opportunity to network with other contractors and meet other people in the industry as well as giving us the chance to provide feedback directly to New Holland representatives from Sydney,” Tony Mazzone said.
Tony Mazzone has been a customer of Melbourne Tractors for 13 years and currently owns a New Holland EH excavator and a new L175 skid steer.
Melbourne Tractors Dealer Principal Ken Bennett said the game was a good event and a highlight of the sporting calendar.
“Soccer is the world’s most popular spectator sport and it’s gaining more and more Australian fans every year. The New Holland customers who came along to the match last week were treated to some very high quality football. It was a great night.”
Juventus Football Club lays claim to 170 million supporters around the world, including 10 million in Italy. The club has 27 Italian championships, nine Italian Cups and four Italian Super Cups to its name, among swag of international accolades.
