The Nawkaw recolouring process for brickwork enables architects to design refurbishment projects where masonry colours can be matched and enhanced and new buildings can have multiple colours. Nawkaw is an emulsion colour treatment featuring hydrous, multiple polymer formulations of resin solids, colour pigments and specially formulated tint bases that give a wide range of colours that penetrate the surface of the brick/block or mortar. It is permanent, avoiding the need for upkeep.
“Commercial and industrial buildings are being rejuvenated with Nawkaw colours,” says Anthony Watling, managing director of Nawkaw Australia. “Our custom colours give older buildings a new look. Architects have another string to their bow for the restoration of heritage buildings or creatively-designed mortar features. The effect can be subtle or dramatic. Brick banding is achievable with Nawkaw.
”It is also ideal for family home additions, extensions and makeovers where the original bricks cannot be matched. It can be used to completely change the colour of the bricks and mortar of the home to achieve a more fashionable, colour-coordinated finish. Quoining is also possible with Nawkaw’s colours, which means there is no need to cement render the brickwork or blocks because the same effect can be achieved more economically.”
Nawkaw is designed to be light fast, UV-resistant, penetrating, aspiratory, quick-drying and resistant to mould, fungus, mildew and extremes of weather. An unlimited colour selection is available and the product may be applied by brush, roller or sponge.
