Due to its inherent technologically-driven advantages, MultiPanel is a better alternative to traditional sheet building products such as plasterboard, MDF and fibre cement sheeting.
It is also a significant advancement upon conventional foam core sheet products, most of which are not entirely waterproof, as strong, as versatile or as easy to work with.
Easy to cut and shape, MultiPanel is 100% waterproof and can be used as an exterior sheeting product or to form exterior architectural details, making it a perfect solution for exterior facades or interiors.
Due to its density of 210kg/m3, MultiPanel has better inbuilt strength than most foam alternatives. This density makes it possible to thermoform MultiPanel into a variety of shapes with relative ease.
The lightweight of the panel means a sheet can easily be held in place and fastened by a single worker. Loading, unloading and manoeuvring sheets is also much easier – reducing risk of handling injuries. The low weight of the panel directly translates into reduced transport costs and significant freight savings as well as benefits to the environment through reduced greenhouse gas emissions.
Individual raw sheets are light grey in colour and have a fine abrasive texture. MultiPanel comes in a standard sheet size of 2400mm x 1200mm and in 6 thicknesses: 8mm, 12mm, 16mm, 18mm, 25mm, and 30mm, with 16mm being the most common. MultiPanel can be glued (using a urethane cartridge adhesive), nailed (airgun or conventional) or screwed.
The panel is compatible with a virtually limitless array of finishes, from mineral or synthetic renders, painting with brush and roller or a hi-gloss urethane, to a wide range of timber veneers, Laminex, stainless steel or aluminium laminates.
If veneers or laminates are required the sheets can be ordered to specification. MultiPanel can easily be integrated into custom fabricated assemblies and gains further strength and rigidity with the addition of epoxy or polyester sheathing and fairing.
