A progressive local council has provided sun protection at a popular bathing beach using the recycled plastic/wood known as Evertuff, from Moodie Outdoor Products . The Bathing Boxes are clad in Evertuff, a composite wood/plastic slat, made from Australian recycled co-mingled materials. Evertuff can be produced in useful shapes such as squares, rectangles or circles.
Evertuff has been used for roof slats, wall slats and decking slats in the bathing boxes. The Evertuff slats are fixed with screws to steel supports, which have been brightly coated in marine paints. The bathing boxes are anchored to the ground using “ground anchors”.
Evertuff composite recycled plastic/wood profiles for beams, bearers, and decking was certified by consulting engineers using testing data. Additional uses of Evertuff can include piles, posts, beams, bearers, joists, purlins and decking.
Australian-made Evertuff can also be used for structures such as pedestrian bridges, boardwalks, shelters, pergolas and viewing platforms.
Features of Evertuff include:
- Strong
- Can be used in wet environments
- Can be driven
- Can be bolted,
- Can be field adjusted with wood working tools
- Can be painted
- Extruded in long sections up to 6m
Evertuff is an Australian recycled resource that has been diverted from landfill and processed in an all Australian extruding factory. The extruding process of Evertuff ensures a constant grade of material, allowing quality control testing of output to engineering specifications.
Evertuff requires no maintenance and is resistant to being eaten by insects, providing a durable alternative to natural products.
