Lump Sculpture Studio , one of Australia’s premier design and sculpture studios, recently received a silver-gilt medal at the Royal Horticultural Society’s Chelsea Flower Show in London.
The competition saw the Lump team collaborate with Fleming’s Nurseries and Jason Hodges of Greenart Gardens to produce a stylish, tranquil outdoor space.
Custom designed sculptures by Lump played an integral part in the design and feel of the space.
A Lump light feature with a repeat Kangaroo paw motif highlighted the space, while a number of Lump leaf skeleton sculptures were situated in the front garden and nestled among a collection of tropical plants.
This is the third time that Lump has been recognised at the Chelsea Flower Show, having earned a silver-gilt medal in 2007 as part of Mark Browning’s team, and gold in 2008 with Jamie Durie.
“Our experience at Chelsea has taught us that one of the major elements that sets Australian gardens apart from other gardens here, is that they are designed to live in” said Wes Fleming of Fleming’s Nurseries.
“Visitors to the show can imagine themselves being in the garden and interacting with its elements, such as Lump’s striking pieces”
While earning the silver-gilt medal was a great accomplishment, the team agreed it was "the Chelsea Experience" that was "pure gold," said Chris Vassallo, Director of Lump Sculpture Studio.
