Sonos from
Len Wallis Audio provides solutions for multi-room
music with its easy walk-around controller, wireless distribution and flexible approach to music storage and access. The one terabyte Ripserver makes a perfect complement as a Network Attached Storage (NAS) device. It can hold upwards of 1300 uncompressed CDs and makes fast, easy work of adding the CDs to the networked collection. Control through Crestron touchscreen, with albums selected by cover art, is under development.
Once Ripserver is plugged into a network connection it takes care of storage of up to 1TB of music files, integrates a media server and a fully automated ripping system. In use, no monitor or keyboard is requires simple insertion of a CD into the slot-loading drive and the CD is converted within a few minutes, added to the media library and made available on a network share, and then gently ejected. Ripserver needs only a single network point for its gigabit network interface and it provides USB connections for expandability and secondary backup to allow additional storage to be added at any stage.
