Leafscreener undertakes a unique process for installing the new leaf barrier system. This system aids in improving the functioning of gutters. The new leaf barrier system also gives bushfire ember protection as well as prevents roof entry by birds, possums and rodents. This system also provides the ultimate assistance for rainwater collection and storage.
The gutters are thoroughly cleaned. Leafscreener attaches the mesh to the outer edge of the gutter using colour matching angle trims and tek screws. This is taken over the first row of tiles and under the second.
The mesh is tucked underneath the second row of tiles, letting their weight keep it in place. The mesh is trimmed by Leafscreener to fit around the hips and siliconed into position, without interfering with the sand and cement bedding. The mesh is trimmed and silicone sealed at gutter stop ends.
Installation of mesh is performed by Leafscreener over valley gutters using the secure ‘step’ method. In this method, the mesh flaps are tucked under opposing tiles on either side of the valley and the mesh is siliconed at the ridge of the roof. Matching colour bond clips or saddles hold the mesh just above the outer edge of a colour bond roof.
