The Murray bridge over Skeleton Creek is currently the longest footbridge in Australia to be produced and installed by Landmark Products. The massive 97m x 3m all-steel footbridge has 1800mm deep trusses and rests on (5) X 820mm diameter concrete piers.
Envisaged as both a functional link between the Melbourne neighbourhoods of Hoppers Crossing and Truganina and a way of bringing the two communities together, the footbridge fulfils the Council brief by offering a timely, durable, and cost effective option in the form of a standard Landmark product.
As part of the footbridge project Wyndham Council commissioned ‘The Flagman’s Welcome’, a Jon Eiseman sculpture which, in the words of the artist, “faces the entrance to the bridge… and is waving a message to invite all those who pass by to come across…”
Location of footbridge: Skeleton Creek Reserve, Bridgewater Way, Truganina, VIC.
Product: 97m x 3m K1105 Murray galvanized steel truss footbridge with hardwood decking.
