LG supports voluntary energy rating scheme for televisions
LG Electronics Australia commends and supports the Federal Governments initiative concerning MEPS and the voluntary labelling scheme for TVs.
LG Electronics Australia, known for its innovative technology and design is investing heavily, in both money and resources, to develop products with higher efficiency levels that reduce the impact on the environment.
Warren Kim, Category Manager - TV, LG Electronics Australia said LG Electronics, both globally and locally, recognises there is an industry need to manufacture televisions that use substantially less energy than conventional sets.
“LG is supportive of initiatives that encourage technological advancements in this area. The proposed changes to the system will assist consumers in making wise purchasing decisions - as individuals and corporations alike, we all have a part to play in safeguarding our environment,” he said.
Currently the LG televisions satisfy the guidelines set out by MEPS; however, LG Electronics Australia intends to pursue further improvements to the energy efficiency levels of its plasma and LCD television products.
