Kubota expands
LABELING it “by far away the most significant decision” in its 30-year history, has flagged it is on track to move into next year. The $18 million investment will see Kubota Australia enjoy a much larger 15,000m2 warehouse giving it an ideal business platform to conduct its future operations. Managing director Mick Nakanishi, said the transition to new premises at Truganina (near Laverton), Victoria, would be complete by this time next year. “Despite drought, tightening credit and increasing competition, Kubota is committed to expanding its business operations in Australia,” Nakanishi said. “The message to both our dealers and customers is that Kubota is growing. We are already firmly entrenched as a major equipment supplier and undertaking this major investment will further consolidate Kubota’s position in the Australia.” The new facility represents a 50 per cent increase on Kubota’s current storage capacity at Tullamarine, and, according to Nakanishi the new facility will greatly enhance Kubota’s ability to deliver machinery to dealers on a timely basis. “The new warehousing facility will maximise the efficiency of our logistics department through the timely supply of products including tractors, mowers, excavators and Krone big square balers.” Nakanishi said.
