Two projects featuring K-vision systems by profine won top awards from the Dutch window association VKG. The K-vision window profile systems have now taken first place in this competition for the third year running.

The VKG jury voted the De Keyzer project in Amsterdam for the Architecture Award, while the Audience Award went to the modernisation project, IJburg College.

The De Keyzer project was realised by Kumij BV with the K-vision Trend system in dark green and white colours. A key challenge for the window installations involved safeguarding the slender and harmonised sight lines that helped the building blend its contemporary style into the surrounding urban context.

The IJburg College project utilised facade and window designs to visually unify the tripartite complex of school, sports hall, and hall of residence. The profine customer, Schipper Kozijnen manufactured the elements with the K-vision Classic system in a black-grey and cream-white colour combination.

Judith Versloot, who is responsible for the profine architect services in the Netherlands, attributes this success to the collaboration between the K-vision profile system developed specifically for this market and the Kozijnen Eredivisie, the association of K-vision manufacturers.

Speaking at the awards ceremony in November 2011 in Rotterdam, she said that the K-vision offers customers an end-to-end system that allows them to fulfil high demands for architectural functionality and design.

Koemmerling is part of the profine GmbH - International Profile Group, a world-leading manufacturer of plastic profiles for windows and doors as well as a key supplier of shutter systems and PVC sheeting.
