Intumescent fire dampers, available from Lorient Australia , have been designed for air transfer applications and can be used in walls, floors, ceilings and ducts.
Theses fire dampers are fully fire tested in accordance with AS1530.4 and comply with AS/NZS1668.1 (1998), Clause 2.4.2 and the air leakage requirements detailed in AS1682.1 (1990).
Additional reliability tests include fire, dust and lint exposure tests, air leakage tests during fire exposure, salt spray corrosion tests, pressure drop tests and acoustic tests.
Unlike mechanical type fire dampers, Lorient intumescent fire dampers do not incorporate any moving components and their lightweight and slim-line design result in a quick and easy installation.
Another shortcoming of conventional mechanical fire dampers is that they cannot be reset with a new fusible link after a fire. If left in place the performance of mechanical fire dampers can be severely impacted by the corrosive properties of smoke generated from a fire.
More information on these intumescent fire dampers is available from Lorient Australia.
