Elite Sound and Lighting, one of Canberra and the ACT’s premier audiovisual production and installation suppliers, has complimented their existing range by purchasing a series of Soundcraft consoles from Jands .

Clients of Elite Sound and Lighting include a wide variety of customers from dry-hire to rock’n’roll to corporate and conferencing. As a result, whenever  new equipment is purchased the key element to consider is versatility.

Darren Russell, Elite’s Managing Director, explains “we always spend a lot of time researching products" and after a thorough look at what the industry has to offer in terms of versatility the suppliers "felt that Soundcraft consoles had the edge over the competition.”

One of the principle selling points of the Soundcraft consoles is their ability to either take analogue inputs and outputs on the back of the console or use CAT5 digital multicore system or a combination of the two.

Another benefit of the Soundcraft consoles for Elite Sound and Lighting is that the hire department has had larger, older Soundcraft consoles for many years and they have always sounded great and are extremely reliable.

The result of Elite’s research led them to purchase a Soundcraft Si Compact 16 console, a Soundcraft Si Compact 32 console and two Soundcraft Compact Stagebox digital multicore systems.

Darren remarks that his staff often comments that the Soundcraft consoles are obviously designed by people who have actually done live audio and mixed live sound.

Soundcraft are out of the box audio solutions, and this was proven when Jands sent Elite a Soundcraft Si Compact to demo and it was up and running passing audio without even opening the manual. “Since getting our Soundcraft Compact Si consoles we’ve probably only had to look at the manual twice to find out how to do some complex routing,” explains Darren.

Darren finally added that the Soundcraft consoles are so user friendly that his "two and a half year old daughter could almost use one!”
