SolidWorks Office, a comprehensive set of three-dimensional computer-aided design (3D CAD) tools that enables users to design products quickly and easily at an affordable price, is now available from Intercad .
SolidWorks Office combines SolidWorks® 2001, the company's flagship Windows-based 3D CAD software, and six of the company's most popular add-on applications in one easy-to-use, easy-to-install package. The product suite gives users a broad range of design functionality from part and assembly modelling, drawing generation, and data interoperability to photo-realistic rendering, standard part libraries, design animation, 3D Web publishing, feature recognition, and design analysis tools.
Engineers and designers who must develop complex products from start to finish can benefit from the wide variety of presentation and productivity tools in SolidWorks Office. SolidWorks 2001, the suite's backbone, lets users slash design time, reduce design costs, and minimize production errors. SolidWorks Office also includes several presentation and productivity tools.
Presentation applications
PhotoWorks™ – lets users produce compelling, photo-quality images that add visual impact to designs, and streamlines prototyping costs and time to market;
SolidWorks Animator – allows users to easily capture and create animations to demonstrate how assemblies and parts move prior to manufacturing. These are helpful during the design review process and can also be used in sales and marketing collateral;
3D Instant Website – makes design communication easier by enabling SolidWorks users to create and publish live Web pages featuring 3D interactive content with one mouse click. SolidWorks also offers Internet hosting options for 3D Instant Website at no extra charge.
Productivity applications
SolidWorks Toolbox – provides design automation tools, as well as access to a library of standard components used in mechanical design. Toolbox allows users to take advantage of SolidWorks Smart Fasteners, a unique capability that automates assembly tasks (such as inserting, orienting, and sizing a series of bolts, screws, washers, or nuts correctly into holes located in a 3D model with just one command);
FeatureWorks® – eases the sharing of 3D models between organizations using different CAD systems. FeatureWorks helps recreate or introduce new features when bringing 3D models created in other CAD applications into SolidWorks 2001;
SolidWorks Utilities – speeds up the design editing process by enabling users to analyze features in a model, compare the features and parts between two different designs, and edit, modify, and suppress different features.
"SolidWorks Office provides a complete set of powerful design tools at a price that is unmatched in the CAD industry," said Paul Ganz, Intercad's Managing Director. "SolidWorks Office combines the industry leading core modelling functionality found in SolidWorks software with additional capabilities ranging from photo-realistic animation and design automation to automatic 3D Web site generation. No other CAD solution on the market provides as much functionality at such an affordable price."
