The ISS VGS oil water separator is featured in the Australian Technology Showcase and is also used extensively by large oil companies like Shell, BP and Caltex. The Vertical Gravity Separator (VGS) from ISS has been developed to remove free oil, grease and suspended solids from waste water while also reducing the frequency and difficulty of maintenance with reference to conventional plate separators. It also reduces vapour content and floor space requirement.
The vertical gravity separator is a flooded system that contains a truncated conical spiral pack made of olephilic material. This facilitates effective separation of oil and sediments from the water and follows a tortuous pattern. Various applications include panel beaters, car retailers, mechanical workshops, engine reconditioners, radiator repairs, auto dismantlers, loading bays, service stations, fuel depots and commercial car washes.
