To ensure brand consistency, the carpet needed to suit multiple environments and floor sizes.
It had to be the ultimate flooring solution to fulfil both functional and aesthetic purposes.
The solution to this problem was found in a carpet made of Antron Lumena nylon, available from Invista .
An ideal floor covering that fit all these requirements, while providing versatility in design to emphasise the beauty of the Westpac brand, the custom-made carpets of Antron Lumena nylon in charcoal grey and metallic silver were laid in different directions to visually aid customers, who need to locate different bank departments.
Because Westpac’s corporate philosophy is based on conducting business that achieves both financial success as well as good corporate citizenship, it is important that the interior finishes reflect these values.
That was where the environmental strength of the carpets played an important part. Containing 5% recycled content, Antron Lumena carpet fibre is an ideal carpet fibre in the US to be independently certified as an Environmentally Preferable Product.
In addition, the carpet provides high stain and soil resistance, colour retention and good appearance retention, which are essential elements in high traffic areas.
Tim said, “The carpet provides the key role in bringing together the aesthetic, functional and environmental concerns for this project.”
“Because we used Antron carpet fibre, we could create a sustainable design concept to endure the passage of time with grace and vigour.”

The end result is an ideal flooring solution that promotes and improves the customer’s experience. Westpac Retail Banking division was honoured with four awards at the 2004 Asia Pacific Antron Design Award.
