Hugh Gordon Architect  offers the services of design and architecture of residential buildings. Hugh Gordon Architect has designed a wide range of residential buildings as well as individual houses.

For a house at Rosedale, Hugh Gordon Architect designed additions at several levels to accommodate the steep slope. The house at Rosedale opens to north and the roofs follow the slope of the land with clerestory glazing which allows sunlight deep into the house.

The house designed by Hugh Gordon Architect at O’Connor has both the interior and exterior satisfying the functional requirements of a family of five and the view of the city from the house is spectacular. The multi level house at O’Connor designed by Hugh Gordon Architect comprises of a garage, studio and water tanks that supply water to the laundry, toilet cisterns and external irrigation. These three are accommodated on the ground floor.

The features of the house at O’Connor designed by Hugh Gordon Architect are high of thermal mass provided by a burnished concrete slab floor, passive heating and cooling and high levels of insulation. The northern glazing provides good solar access in winter and the overhanging eaves and cross ventilation provide comfort in summer. The supplementary heating is provided by a hydronic in-slab system.
