The multi level house at O’Connor designed by Hugh Gordon Architect comprises of a garage, studio and water tanks that supply water to the laundry, toilet cisterns and external irrigation. These three are accommodated on the ground floor.
The features of the house at O’Connor designed by Hugh Gordon Architect are high of thermal mass provided by a burnished concrete slab floor, passive heating and cooling and high levels of insulation. The northern glazing provides good solar access in winter and the overhanging eaves and cross ventilation provide comfort in summer. The supplementary heating is provided by a hydronic in-slab system.
