Renovation, decoration and building at the HIA Sydney Home Show

The HIA Sydney Home Show returns to Sydney from May 10 – 13 to deliver an event that will leave visitors brimming with ideas and handy hints from the industry design, building and renovation experts.

HIA Sydney Home Show is to take place at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre.

In addition to a compelling mix of features, experts and advice, the HIA Sydney Home Show displays new products and services for the home from more than 300 exhibitors. From big name brands to boutique labels, the show aisles hold an array of must-haves, from big-ticket items to smaller pieces that add that special finishing touch for the home.

Navigating the show is easier than ever, with clearly labelled aisles and easy to identify staff dotted throughout the venue.

Content for the 2007 HIA Sydney Home Show has been refreshed, revitalised and renewed. From interior design, to kitchen overhauls, to technology and sustainable living solutions, this year’s features will delight both male and female home enthusiasts.

Features include:

Home beautiful design precinct - Sydney’s interior designers will showcase their skills in the designer room series II where full-scale rooms will be on display for visitors to peruse and be inspired by new trends. Visitors can instantly get the designer look from the nearby (and new) designer retail precinct where items can be purchased from some of Sydney’s best interior decorating names.

The neighbouring designer forum is the perfect place to take in daily seminars on interior forecasts, renovation and decoration projects, while the new designer drinks bar offers a luxurious surround for visitors to enjoy a beverage and delight in the lush atmosphere.

The T3 home technology show this year will feature the T3 ultimate bachelor pad. The ultimate showcase of new technology, innovations and developments in home entertainment. The home technology show is the place to check out Australia’s major supplier’s new revolutionary tech products. Designed in conjunction with students from

Enmore School of Design, the T3 Ultimate Bachelor Pad appears as an ultra-cool apartment styled with all the mod cons a boy (or tech savvy girl) could want. Brands such as Philips, Motorola, Mio and Sennheiser, all operating wirelessly at the show, will demonstrate the ultimate in connected living.

The Pamper Zone provides a self indulgent luxurious oasis where visitors can take timeout from the hustle and bustle of retail heaven to put their feet up and receive complimentary beauty treatments. Visitors can also pick up some great beauty tips from leading experts.

The new HIA Kitchen Showcase is the place to be for all kitchen questions, whether it be to get up to date with new kitchen mod cons, discover ways to maximise space in the kitchen or to speak to an HIA professional on any other kitchen related building or renovation jobs. Ten of the ideal kitchens from a range of designers will certainly impress even the fussy kitchen lovers.

Back for another year is the ever-popular Ask an Expert pavilion where visitors can have one on one consultations with a selection of building, design and renovation experts. Visitors are encouraged to bring along their plans, samples, sketches and everything in between to get the most out of their consultation.

A strong trend for 2007 is green living solutions and the HIA Sydney Home Show has an array of sustainable features on show to ensure visitors are informed about this important issue. At the show the HIA will present the HIA GreenSmart Building Zone where new green building materials and products will be on display.

Co-located with this feature will be the WaterSmart Display where visitors can improve their knowledge of water conservation. The nearby Sustainable Living Stage will offer interactive seminars on eco-friendly solutions for every element of the home, presented by eco-experts.

Always a favourite, the Fisher & Paykel Gourmet Kitchen returns to the show, revitalised to tantalise the senses, Visitors will learn how to shuck, saute and braise as Sydney’s top chefs and foodies from The Lifestyle Channel prepare their favourite meals for the season.
