HP (Hewlett Packard ) has announced the winners of the HP Digital Print Awards 2012 - HP Sign & Display (Asia Pacific and Japan).
The HP Digital Print Awards recognise 12 winners for their outstanding print achievements and innovations in the signage industry across Asia Pacific and Japan.
The third edition of the competition drew 82 entries from 13 countries across six categories: Environmental Responsibility, Exhibitions and Events, Innovative Application/Unique Media, Outdoor Advertising, Retail Point of Purchase/Point of Sale and Vehicle Graphics.
The competition for the signage industry recognises Print Service Providers (PSPs) who have leveraged HP’s digital printing solutions to meet the increasing demands of their customers for innovation.
According to Martin Carballo, Director, HP Scitex – Graphics Solutions Business, Printers and Personal Systems Group, Hewlett-Packard Asia Pacific and Japan, the HP Digital Print Awards for the Sign & Display industry salutes PSPs who are pushing the boundaries of print through innovation. He adds that this year’s competition has received excellent submissions and hopes that the award winners can find new revenue opportunities ahead with HP through their printing portfolio.
The award assessment criteria included innovation and creativity, marketing appeal, the best use of ink and colour, creative print application installation and overall aesthetics.
Winner of the Retail Point of Purchase/Point of Sale Gold Award, Tom Tjanaria, Managing Director of Next Printing says that their investment in HP technologies has paid off with both the company and customers enjoying the benefits.
Winner of the Exhibitions and Events Gold Award, Zhan Xiao Jun, Sales Manager, HP Digital Printing House Hangzhou Soyang Shop said that they were able to deliver on a project worth more than US$9 million, which involved producing a metallic exhibition showcase in a very short space of time. Their HP machines allowed them to produce these materials and maintain a high print quality and colour consistency.
Mr Brian Tan, Senior 3D Designer (Events and Exhibition) from Imagination Asia Ltd. and Dr Lisa C. Wan, Assistant Professor of Marketing and International Business at Lingnan University presided as judges for the third presentation of the HP Digital Print Awards 2012 - HP Sign & Display (Asia Pacific and Japan).
