Floor tiling from Heritage Tiles NZ
Heritage Tiles NZ provides do-it yourself (DIY) floor tiling process protocol. According to Heritage Tiles NZ, the ideal surface to tile is a smooth concrete floor that has had at least a month to dry out. As for all timber floors, Heritage Tiles NZ recommends screw and glue fibre cement board, this will provide appropriate surface for tiling. In case of wet area like bathrooms and kitchens, Heritage Tiles NZ recommends waterproof tiling. This is done by applying a damp-proof membrane before tiling.
Customers have to remove flex in a floor before tilling, because this may fracture the tile. A floor that has any movement in it should not be tiled. There are some instances where it is more attractive to start with full tiles like the place where both tiles and carpet meet. Full tiles are advised to start from a wide doorway.
Once all full tiles have been laid, customers are requested to not allow excess adhesive to dry, instead it could be wiped away immediately. Heritage Tiles NZ can provide professional cuts for tiles, in case any customers choose to have the cuts made on their tiles. As for grouts, it must only be applied once the adhesive has dried completely, usually after 24 hours.
