Hanson adopt water conservation methods in manufacturing pavers and concrete blocks
Hanson ’s Queensland-based plant manufactures pavers and concrete block. The management and staff of Hanson have come up with ways to help conserve water in the manufacturing process. Hanson collect all rain water from the roof of the plant and keep it in two 10,000 litre rain water tanks for later use.
Hanson have also implemented a system to collect the water runoff from the kilns used to cure concrete blocks and transfer that water back into the concrete mixers. Different blocks and pavers, manufactured by Hanson, generate a lot of steam that condenses into water, which is then collected and recycled.
