Designbuild gears up for Sydney show
Designbuild will be even bigger and better this year, according to organisers Australian Exhibition Services .
“For the first time, Designbuild will occupy four halls at Sydney’s Exhibition Centre – that’s a 25 per cent increase in floorspace over the last show in Sydney in 2003,” says exhibition director Bill Hare.
This exclusively trade only event is attended by more than 16,000 specifiers, buyers and key decision makers who will have the opportunity to discover new products, trends and network with more than 400 exhibitors from around 16 countries.
Major names such as Aquadux , Architectural Window Systems , ASSA Abloy Aust - Lockwood, Autodesk Australia , BlueScope Steel , C & M Brick , CDK Stone , CS Cavity Sliders , CSR Panel Systems , Dulux Powder Coatings , Dynalite , Gunnersen Timbermark , Hafele Australia , Issey Sun Shade Systems , Makita Australia , Moen Glass, Rheem Australia, Trend Windows & Doors.
Some of the broad range of products on show include: Vantage stacking sliding doors that open to 2/3 their width (Architectural Window Systems), a fire and impact sound rated wall in one system (Eco-Block), an easy to use home design software package (MyVirtualHome), new form liners that allow putting an impression of almost anything on a concrete element, (even Marilyn Monroe!) from Reckli Australia, marble mosaics and ceramics from China, quartz-based reconstituted stone (Pierre Stone & Tiles), a roof structure with minimal framing (SolarSpace), pedestals that can bear loads of more than 1000kg/pedestal (Buzon), eco-friendly architectural-style acrylic renders and finishes (Shieldcoat) and a new long life decking made from plastics, wood flour and resins from Southern Cross Merchants.
Industry shows within Designbuild 2005 are The National Plumbing Show with the largest plumbing display in Australia, Tilex 2005, incorporating Finishes and Surfaces featuring the largest collection of tile and stone products ever assembled and Frame Australia, showcasing the design and manufacture of domestic and commercial timber frame construction, floor truss and wall framing systems.
Other key industry sectors are also catered for with product feature areas including interiors, information technology, window and glass technology, safety and security, building materials and equipment, and for the first time, bathroom and kitchen, and smart home.
Another highlight is a seminar series conducted daily at the show free to all visitors.
Presenters include some of Australia’s most innovative architects, interior designers and engineers including Andrew Burges, John Farren, James Grose, Rachel Neeson, Caroline Pidcock and Tone Wheeler. Topics to be covered will include Interior Design, Sustainable Building, the Green Star Environmental Rating System and Noise Control Systems.
Designbuild Australia will be staged at the Sydney Exhibition Centre from 5 – 8 June 2005.
Opening times are Sunday 5 June, 10am-6pm, Monday 6 June, 10am-6pm.
Tuesday 7 June, 12noon-9pm (late night) and Wednesday 8 June, 10am-5pm.
