Gunnersen achieve Chain of Custody (CoC) certification

Gunnersen have achieved Chain of Custody (CoC) certification under the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), the Australian Forestry Standard (AFS), and the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) schemes.
Together with the Gunnersen Responsible Forest Products Purchasing Policy, CoC certification assures customers of Gunnersen’s ongoing commitment to ethical business practice in the trade of forest products.
CoC product certification:
CoC product certification means that Gunnersen have developed a system of risk controls for the purpose of verifying product traceability. The system is certified having passed an independent audit to verify it meets the rigorous requirements of Chain of Custody.
CoC Certification gives people confidence that when they purchase a certified product from Gunnersen they are assured that the product has a verifiable connection to a certified source of manufacture and raw material resource.
Importance of CoC product certification:
Increasingly timber is valued not only as a commodity, but also as a precious resource that requires protection. Forests from which timber products are produced provide water, oxygen, wildlife habitat and biodiversity, fuel for heating and cooking, products for shelter, education and communication, they even influence the weather. A well managed forest never runs out – it is sustainable.
CoC Certification provides the link between well managed forests and consumers. Only well managed forests can achieve forest certification, and only products with a verifiable connection along the supply chain to their source forest can qualify for CoC certification.
