Guardian Tactile Systems have won a contract to supply “Fire Retardant” Tactile Indicators to the Sydney Airport.
This contract was awarded after conclusive testing was carried out to confirm beyond doubt their suitability as to providing a level of safety that will satisfy the performance requirements CP4 of the Building Code of Australia 2004.
Tested by the CSIRO – Fire Science and Technology Laboratories as to their fire retardant characteristics, this tile has proven to be more than suitable for internal installations.
The Guardian Tactile system is manufactured from a long lasting UV stable acrylic (Polymethyl methacrylate) that will not crack, peel, laminate or chip. Coupled with a cross linked adhesive, the system is designed to be the easiest and best currently available.
Suitable for both inside and outside applications, the system allows the installer to minimise any downtime or interruption caused to pedestrian traffic therefore allowing the tiles to be immediately walked upon once fixed to the substrate.
Guardian Tactiles come with a 10 year guarantee and are available in four standard colours but can be manufactured in any colour should the need arise.
