Global Safe Technologies has completed a variety of anti slip treatments on various surfaces and stairs for the Red Lantern Vietnamese restaurant in Surrey Hills, Sydney.
Restaurant management was concerned about public safety at the restaurant entrance and employee safety at the restaurant kitchen and serving areas.
They called on Global Safe Technologies to assess the situation and report back to them. After reviewing the complimentary Floor Safety Inspection report, the management decided to go ahead with all the recommendations.
The Safe Solution micro etching anti slip treatment was used on the external tiled entrance surface. Black and yellow Safe Grip stair nosing now provide a long lasting anti slip surface both on the wooden and tiled stairs and highlights the edge of the artificial external floor.
As this entrance area is shared between the occupants of the unit and restaurant staff and patrons, the restaurant has also provided additional public safety for the occupants of the building.
In the kitchen 50 mm wide and 100 mm wide, Safe Grip non slip strips were employed, depending on the likely contamination of the surface and contaminant type.
As the chef’s cooking area is considered to be a high risk situation, the 50 mm strips were used. This combination of various strips provided the restaurant with a fully OH&S compliant and safe floor surface and gave them a cost effective solution.
The Global Safe team worked overnight as well as during the day to ensure that all work was completed without causing any problems for the occupants of the building or downtime for the restaurant.
These goals have been accomplished and management complimented the team on the professionalism and dedication, to get the job done. Staff also commented how good the revitalised floor is.
