Mats from the General Mat Company are CSIRO-tested to prove their high performance capabilities.
The General Mat Company distributes a comprehensive range of ergonomic, anti-fatigue and safety matting, and has subjected some of its biggest sellers and most versatile mats to the CSIRO's tests for Slip Resistance Classification on New Pedestrian Surfaces.
The mats submitted easily passed the tests, conducted on wet and dry surfaces to AS/NZS 4585:1999.
Mats tested included:
- Happy Feet No. 491 for wet, dry and greasy areas from retail counters to kitchen.
- Safety Alert SpongeCote No. 416 for day-long comfortable standing
- Waterhog Classic No. 200 dirt-trapping entrance mats for shops, offices, factories, health and hospitality facilities
- Hog Heaven No. 260 for high traffic work areas including warehouses and workshops
- Workmate No. 824 for restaurants, bars, food service and wet and dry industrial and commercial areas
GMC Managing Director, Michael Siegle, said the most significant aspect of the CSIRO tests is that they prove a high level of anti-slip performance at a time when slip and fall accidents account for half of new workers compensation cases - and increasingly more public liability cases.
The GMC products tested by the CSIRO are keyed not only to preventing slips and falls by providing enhanced grip even in wet or greasy conditions, but also to providing long-term protection through ergonomics, including promotion of better posture and softer, more comfortable working surfaces.
