X10 DIY Home Automation available from Future Touch

Receiver Modules
 Numerous receiver modules are available on the market, and some are DIY versions, whereby a light or appliance can be automated simply by plugging it into a power outlet. Future Touch supply the LM12 Lamp Module that allows a lamp to be automated, as a well as providing the ability to dim its brightness via commands. Also available is the AM12 Appliance Module, which allows appliances to be switched on/off, up to 10A in power. Both receiver modules are each set to a unique X10 home automationaddress, and then simply wait to receive commands from an X10 home automation controller.    

X10 Control – Enhanced Computer Controller
A commonly used D.I.Y. controller for X10 home automation is the CM15-Pro Computer Interface Module - Enhanced.  The CM15Pro provides the hobbyist with the advanced version of ActiveHome software, whilst also providing the ability to directly receive X10 home automation commands via RF. If any motion sensors and RF remotes or wireless wall switches are installed, these can communicate directly with the CM15Pro and interact with programming rules. The ActiveHome software is designed for beginners and easily allows timers, schedules, rules and macros to be created in a matter of minutes – with lots of visual diagrams of how it all operates.
