Here’s a really different rainwater storage tank; a rainwater tank that the designers believe you will want to have in full view. Considering the state government’s new water conservation measures (new residential developments require rainwater tanks), developers and landscapers should welcome this product.
Lumi takes rainwater storage out of the rural, plumbing world and makes it contemporary, urban and architectural. Lumi answers an obvious gap in the water storage tank market– rainwater tanks that look good. The availability of a beautiful rainwater tank will encourage more people to practise water conservation.
The idea came from the design of a tank that would light up when full
To find out if a water tank is full, you tap on the side. An inner city water tank virtually invites people to tap on the side. “Tap.Tap. It’s up to here”
People want to know if a tank is full. This gave Full Tank the idea to create a transparent tank. Health and Safety regulations prohibit this. So the idea grew into the design of a tank that would light up when full. As the water level rose, the lights would get brighter and, when the tank was full, the tank would be totally lit up. Everyone would know when the tank was full.
It would somehow make a statement of the amount of rainwater saved, like the flashing sign at Richmond station that tells you how full Victoria’s water reserves are.
Full Tank uses superior quality materials including Plexiglass Satinice, which is UV resistant and provides high-level weatherability. The material is also fully recyclable. Customised graphics can be applied to the outer surface to create illuminated signage on the rainwater tank by night This is perfect for commercial applications where a rainwater tank may need to match an overall company look. Lumi is available in a range of colours and sizes and has options for tap ware and showerheads. The footprint is either square or circular.
