Forbo claims you will be ‘floored’ by the revolutionary product improvements and extended colour, texture and design opportunities offered by the new Marmoleum Global 2 collection.
Presenting the biggest developments in linoleum for years, not only is it the most complete linoleum collection ever created, Forbo again leads the way in product innovation, design and performance within the commercial flooring arena.
Forbo says the innovative, water-based Topshield finish is a breakthrough in linoleum. Topshield is a two-layer high performance finish, made from a high density primer and an ultimate scuff resistant top layer which has given the Marmoleum global 2 collection a quantum leap in appearance retention over all linoleums and is comparable to a polyurethane finish.
Independent tests show that Marmoleum Global 2 with Topshield outperforms other resilient floor coverings, including PU vinyls, in having the least dirt-pick up, considerably reducing the need for cleaning and maintenance, resulting in lower floor-care costs and overall improved appearance of floors.
As a water-based finish, Topshield also compliments the sustainable environmental characteristics of the Marmoleum Global 2 collection, while highlighting and enriching the visual characteristics of the Real, Dual, Vivace and Walton design ranges that made up the Marmoleum global 1.
New to the Marmoleum global 2 collection is the subtle, non-marbled design range Marmoleum piano. Created by Forbo’s design team using the newly developed Forbo Colour Space (FCS), it has discreet, small flecks through its solid-toned depth.
FCS colour harmonisation of all ranges within the new collection provides additional versatility and creative freedom to architects and designers to work across the entire compatible spectrum of colours & designs.
As well, pioneering work in the development of textured linoleum sees the introduction of Walton crocodiles, an embossed light-reflective finish available in striking red or black.
A number of specialist performance ranges are also launched within the Marmoleum global 2 collection. Marmoleum decibel has arguably the best acoustic performance of any linoleum product in the world, with an impact sound reduction of 17dB. Marmoleum acoustic, built up in two layers (Marmoleum on top of a Corkment underlay), achieves an impact sound reduction of at least 14dB while Marmoleum ohmex with its enhanced electrical properties reduces electrical resistance.
Due to the success and longevity of the Marmoleum real collection, these colours are guaranteed to be available until 2012, while the demand for tiles sees the incorporation of two tile sizes for all 30 colours of the Marmoleum tile Dual range: 33.3 x 33.3 cm and 50 x 50 cm.
Marmoleum global 2 was officially launched in Australia/New Zealand on February 1 and will showcase in Australia at DesignEX in Melbourne, April 2005.
