Foldcore Wall Panels available from Flexi Products
Foldcore Wall Panels are the new patents pending invention from the creators of Flexi Products . Foldcore is a folding core between two or more sheet of wallboards.
Foldcore enables the panel so formed to be folded to little more than the original thickness of the two wallboards, which can be folded out to a walled panel of any pre-determined thickness.
Advantages of Foldcore Wall Panels include the following:
- Can be made in wallboard manufacturers’ own factory and shipped throughout the country
- Storage takes up no more room than wallboard
- Wall panels can be shipped anywhere at no increased freight rates, e.g. four times or cheaper than conventional core walls
- Foldcore Panels take up less room in merchants store than wallboard; a saving of four times or more of space used in stocking conventional or made up core walls
- Trucks to builders’ sites take four or more times Foldcore Panels and builder has less worry in storage
- Less damage should result in transit
- Foldcore Wall Panels can be made to varying strength capacities by spacing the studs closer or further apart and by increasing the thickness of the cardboard studs for load bearing walls
- It is possible that thinner wallboard could be used with the cardboard studs closer together and also increased spans between fixings could be achieved
- Automation of manufacture of Foldcore Panels could be achieved at little cost
- Electrical wiring and plumbing can be installed more easily between cardboard studs
- Foldcore Walls would be considered to have better acoustical and thermal insulation than conventional walls; however, if further insulation is required this could be installed more easily between cardboard studs before erection
- Various types of wall linings could be used with Foldcore, e.g. chipboard, plasterboard, plywood, aluminium, sheet metal, hardboards, pinex
