Insulation for fire rated walls
To comply with the BCA Deemed-to-Satisfy provisions for class 2 to 9 buildings, the components of an FRL stud wall system need to be non-combustible.
“A test done in accordance with AS 1530.1 will determine if a material is combustible. If materials used in an assembly contain combustible components, then the assembly is combustible” (Guide to the BCA 2007 Sect A1.1 p.21 ABCB).
Fletcher Insulation manufactures the brands of ecologically sustainable Pink Batts, Pink Batts Silencer, Fat Batts and Acousti-Therm.
They are all independently certified by Good Environmental Choice Australia Ecolabel and can be used in the above applications as they are all non-combustible.
