EYE Lighting has released the EYE Multi Super Ace Lamp, a five band multi-wave length metal halide lamp that features new flicker reduction technology that is said to represent an important technological advance.

Conventional metal halide lamps experience a high level of flicker which renders them unsatisfactory in some lighting applications. The new EYE lamp has addressed this problem, reducing flicker by up to two thirds compared with many other metal halide lamps available. The break-through technology of the EYE Multi Super Ace Lamp means the many advantages of metal halide lamps can now be applied to lighting applications previously excluded due to flicker problems.

Other features include truer colour representation, an increase of the rated average life of up to 25 percent over previous standard metal halide lamps and the use of Ferro Electric Capacitor (FEC) ignitor technology. This latter provides for significantly reduced run up time.and the FEC ignitor also has a built in timer function which stops it from pulsing at the end of lamp life, which provides an added safety feature.

The new EYE lamp is ideal for all types of working environments where it is vital to have good quality and well illuminated surrounds. While previously the amount of flicker present in conventional metal halide lamps has restricted use in some applications, the EYE lamp overcomes this problem as well as offering an improved colour rendition.
