Erosion Protection Systems install concrete filled mattress system in Bourke



Concrete filled mattress system
Erosion Protection Systems , involved in erosion control, recently protected the abutments of a bridge in a remote location, west of Bourke, in NSW.

The concrete filled mattress system was used to protect both abutments, with the edges of the mattress keyed into anchor trenches to ensure there is no scouring from under the matt.

Three hundred square metres of revetment mattress was installed in one day, providing a fast and economical solution to protecting engineering structures located in remote areas.

These double-layered revetment mattress fabrics are manufactured in Australia to the highest quality. The system involves the injection of a high strength grout between the layers of a fabric formwork.

The revetment mattress is used by local councils to provide protection to drainage structures, culverts and bridge abutment protection.
