Kingston City Hall is a music and drama venue capable of accommodating 1200 people. It features sound stage facilities and the signature ruby red velvet House Curtain.
Featuring performances by the likes of guitar legend Tommy Emmanuel, a major hindrance to the full exploitation of the halls potential was the excessive reverberation time caused by the hard, fibrous plaster ceiling and bulkheads.
To resolve this problem, Envirospray 300 from Enviro Acoustics was applied to the ceiling in a beige colour, to complement the existing architecture.
The discrete installation of Envirospray 300 has dramatically improved the acoustic quality of the music hall. It took six days to install Envirospray 300 over an area of 500 m2, at 12.5 metres high. The Envirospray 300 was applied with a thickness of 30 mm and a density of 70 kg/m3.
