In a first in kitchen technology, the Bi-Energy oven by Glem Gas offers the option of gas or electricity in the one unit. The Bi-Energy oven is the brainchild of Ottavio Cimino, managing director of Glem Gas, who, while proud of his Australian invention, believes his fascination with wine and food is largely due to his Italian heritage.
“First class restaurants all over the world need both gas and electric ovens to produce the finest meals,” he says. “I wanted to invent an oven that brings the same expertise into the family kitchen. Another bonus to the Bi-Energy is, of course, if there’s a power failure you just keep on cooking.”
The Bi-Energy’s gas fan oven has revolutionised previous gas models, delivering both uniform heat distribution and cooking rate. Standard features on all Bi-Energy ovens include triple glazed doors, high powered triple ring wok burner, fish burner, cast iron and electronic ignition.
The top of the range is the 900mm Bi-Energy Hi Tech which includes a 900mm multi-fuel stainless steel upright cooker with 136L oven capacity and closed door grilling. Completing the package is the 900mm stainless steel canopy rangehood with efficient suction power, washable and dishwasher-safe metal filters and 450 cu m/hour capacity. A 900mm stainless steel splash back finishes off the look.
