EcoNova's 800kL/day NovaProtm waste water recycling plant adjacent to the Hobart Airport will be completed by the end of 2008.
The project, commissioned by Clarence City Council will service several stakeholders, including Hobart airport, who will be discharging to this new plant.
Project Manager Herb Schotel has been working on construction of this major project for several months, and has seen the site evolve from a dirt plot to a range of tanks and buildings filled with infrastructure.
"The team have been working hard, which over a cold Tasmanian winter can have its own set of challenges. But the project is progressing smoothly, even passing snap safety inspections by local authorities. We anticipate the project will be on track for completion later this year."
The facility will link to the recycled water irrigation network serving local golf courses and nurseries. The plant features Membrane Bioreactor technology to ensure that the treated water is safe to discharge into Lower Pittwater when not required by irrigators.
