EcoNova awarded with the $5.2M Cambridge project underway
EcoNova has got the $5.2M Cambridge project underway from the Clarence City Council. The Council is responding to rapidly expanding commercial development in the Cambridge area and increasing pressure on wastewater treatment facilities and infrastructure by constructing a state of the art wastewater treatment facility at the Hobart International Airport.
The Clarence City Council has awarded the tender to design and construct the plant to EcoNova. The plant will raise wastewater treatment standards and replace the Hobart International Airport secondary treatment plant, Council's lagoons in Cambridge, and the Barilla Caravan Park lagoon system.
The facility will link to the recycled water irrigation network serving local golf courses and Westland Nurseries. The Cambridge plant will feature Membrane Bioreactor technology to ensure that the treated water is safe to discharge into Lower Pittwater when not required by irrigators.
The new Cambridge Wastewater Treatment Plant and associated sewerage reticulation infrastructure will ensure no treated water will be discharged into Barilla Bay and the associated Ramsar Wetlands of international significance. The project is due for completion in September 2008.
